Veneer Prep

Prep Day! This is when the magic really starts to happen - so get excited!

At this appointment, Dr. Hoffman will prepare your teeth for veneers by using an extremely conservative prep technique that allows you to keep majority of your tooth structure, while also making room for veneers that are as durable as they are stunning.

To prepare everything to perfection, Dr. Hoffman will also contour your gums doing a gingivectomy. The amount of gum contouring required is dependent on the goals you set to achieve as discussed with Dr. Hoffman when making your customized treatment plan.

Finally, temporary veneers are placed on your teeth. These will represent the shape, size and length of your veneers. Being in your temporaries is the perfect way to ‘test drive’ how your final veneers will look. During this time, we encourage you to take a close look at your temporary veneers and gather input from your close friends and family about them. This will allow you to make tweaks to them (if necessary) before your final veneers are delivered. The material of the temps however are acrylic, so they will not totally represent the final outcome of your veneers. The material used to craft your veneers offers a high aesthetic potential with a translucent appearance, allowing light to pass through them, just as natural teeth do. The minimal prep technique in conjunction with the high-grade material, results in veneers that look alive and offer a perfectly natural appearance - so don’t worry if the temps appear too opaque or the shade isn’t perfect- they are called temporaries for a reason!
